Philippine Ferry Fire: Death Toll Hits 77, Eight Still Missing
PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said four individuals listed on the passenger manifest were verified never to have boarded the MV June Aster, revising the total number of people aboard down from 132 to 128, according to a statement posted on Facebook.
A total of 43 passengers have been confirmed as survivors.
"The PCG continues to verify and reconcile passenger information as part of the ongoing accounting of all individuals listed in the MV June Aster ticket manifest," the PCG said.
The ferry departed Manila last Wednesday before catching fire in waters off Coron, Palawan.
